Huánuco Pampa Trek to Huayhuash

This hike Huánuco pampa, Jahuacocha is amazing because it combines culture and nature in a unique way. The Inca citadel of Huánuco Pampa is located 7 km from the city of the union, Province of Dos de Mayo. At an altitude 3697 meters (in Huánuco).

Huánuco Pampa, is a citadel of typical construction of the late horizon or Inca period. Construction began in 1460, but the construction was interrupted in 1539 when the Spaniards arrived and founded the colonial city of Huánuco.

This Inca city was planned keeping in mind the criterion of socio-urban order and character, so it is not only an administrative center but also of production, especially of textile production. In this archaeological site the festival of the sun is staged, all the years of the 26 – 28 of July, being the central day on July 27.

Along this trek, you will walk through paths surrounded by breathtaking landscapes such as Yerupaja, Jirishanca, Siula, and camp next to lakes Carhuacocha, Mitucocha and Jahuacocha of the Huayhuash mountain range. It is highly recommended. Come to join an unforgettable vacation in Huánuco pampa and huayhuash!
