Grandiose trek around the Cordillera Huayhuash, jewel of the Andes. The Yerupaja, the second peak of Peru, dominates from its 6634 meters a score of other peaks, all erected more than 5500 meters. In the heart of a wild and preserved world, an original course, closer to the high peaks. An exceptional tour, with dream camps and 2-day breaks to explore or rest before continuing! WHAT’S INCLUDED

Guide

One fully qualified, certified and experienced mountain guide who speaks Spanish and English if required, and who holds a first aid certificate in mountain rescue.

Cook

A professional cook who prepares a wide variety of healthy and delicious dishes, and who is trained to cook in a hygienic manner accompanies group of more than 4 people.

Muleteers

The muleteer (arriero) is in charge of loading the donkeys, looking after them and guiding them to camp.

Donkeys

The number of donkeys provided depends on the size of de the group.

You are allowed to bring up to 6 kg of personal belongings that will be loaded on the donkeys. You will only carry your daypack during the day.

Emergency Horse

One horse accompanies the group for emergency purposes.

Fantastic Meals

All food during the expeditions is provided as part of the package. We offer a combination of peruvian and western dishes. The varied, good-quality, high-energy food prepared by our profesional cook is specifically suited to rigorous activity.  We also regularly accommodate vegetarian, vegan, kosher, non-gluten and other specialty diets.

Private Transport

From you hotel in huaraz to the starting point of trek, an from the finishing point of the trek back to your hotel in Huaraz.

  • A good quality high mountain tent (doublé occupancy)
  • A foam sleeping mat.

Day 01: Huaraz (3090m) – Cuartelwuain (4180m)

We left Huaraz 8: am
.Sur east of Huaraz passing village of Chiquian, Llamac, Palca, Cuartelwuain.
. The first field where we spent the first night.
. Approximate duration of 5 hours on bus

Day 02: Cuartelwuain – Kacanan Punta Pass (4690m) – Mitucocha Lake (4200m)

.Breakfast
. At the pass of Kacananpunta we have a view of the lake and valley.
. Descent through the hot valley to the Janca field.
In the afternoon visit the Mitucocha lagoon closer.
The walk lasts 5 hours, and rest.

Day 03: Mitucocha Lake – Yanayana Pass (4650m) – Carhuacocha Lake (4138m)

Breakfast
We leave with a simple climb to the Yanayana pass where we have some view of the mountains.
.Descent through the Yana yana valley to the Carhuacocha lake where a bird can be seen.
Where we also have a magical view of Yerupaja Mountain and Siula Grande.
The walk lasts approximately 4 to 5 hours

Day 04: Carhuacocha Lake – Siula Punta Pass (4830m) – Huayhuash (4350m)

Breakfast.
.We consider our trek through the Carhua Valley until we reach a viewpoint.
. Where we have a beautiful view of the lakes of Quisillococha, Siulacocha, Gangrajanca.
We continue route to the Siula point where you can see the mountains of the Huayhuash mountain range.
We descend through the valley passing through the Atocshaico lagoon to the Huayhuash field.
The hard walk has approached from 6 to 7 hours.

Day 05: Huayhuash – Portachuelo Pass (4700m) – Viconga Lake (4365m).

Breakfast.
We left our campsite with the address at Huayhuash portachuelo pass.
Where you can see the Cordillera Raura and the view of the Trapecio and Puscanturpa
mountains.
Then we descend to the Viconga lake until we reach the thermal baths.
The hike lasts approximately 5 hours, and then to relax in the thermal baths.

Day 06: Viconga Lake – Cuyoc Pass (4985m) – Cuyoc Pampa (4400m).

.Breakfast
Start of our trek with a regular climb until Cuyo punta passed.
.At the note view of the Huayhuash mountain range, and the Cordillera Raura.
Then we go to the Cuyo Pampa field, and the hike lasts 4 to 5 hours.

Day 07: Cuyoc Pampa – Jurao Pass (5125m) – Cutatambo (4263m).

.Breakfast.
We start our trek with a strong climb until we reach Jurao.
Where we have a beautiful view of the Jurao lake, Sarapococha, and the mountains.
Then I descend through a small valley next to the Jurao lake, until arriving at the Cutatambo field.
The walk lasts approximately 5 to 6 hours.

Day 08: Cutatambo – Huayllapa – Huatiaq (4300m)

Breakfast.
. Descent through the Calinca valley through the cultivation field to the town of Huayllapa.
Visit the town of Huayllapa where there is energy to charge the batteries of the cameras or buy some things.
. Then I ascend the Huancho valley to the Huatiaq camp.
The walk lasts a total of 6 hours.

Day 09: Huatiaq – Tapush Punta Pass (4770m) – Angocancha (4300m).

.Breakfast.
We continue our route going up to the Tapushpunta pass.
We start descending through the Gaspapampa valley next to the Susucocha lake.
. Also going through the forests of Quenuales, and then Angocancha field.
The walk lasts approximately 5 hours, and rest.

Day 10: Angocancha – Llaucha Punta Pass (4850m) Jahuacocha (4050m).

Breakfast
We leave with the Llaucha pass point for the view of the Huacrish valley.
We continue our trek through the upper part of the Huacrish zero where we have a beautiful view of the mountain range of the Huayhuash mountain range.
. Then we get to the viewpoint another very important point to see the lagoons of Jahuacocha, .Solteracocha with its beautiful colors.
From this point I descend at least 850m to the camp, the walk lasts 5 hours.

Day 11: Rest or solitary view of Jahuacocha.

Breakfast.
Free day to do different activities, small walk, trout fishing practice.
Or simply relax watching birds of different species.

Day 12: Jahuacocha – Llamac – Huaraz

.Breakfast.
We start our trek through the Achín valley, and then we do not go through the channel to Pampa Llamac.
Then we move 700m to the town of LLamac where we do not expect our private transportation.
Return to the city of Huaraz the trip lasts approximately 5 hours.
