The Cordillera Huayhuash just have thirty kilometers long and 15 km (9.3 mi) wide, but it is full impressive lakes, glaciers in waterfalls and high and fluted peaks of more than 6000 m.

These include Yerupaja (6634m), the second highest tropical mountain in the world and the epic Siula Grande (6356m), made famous by Joe Simpson and Simon Yates in the award-winning book and the film “Touching the Void”.

Located to the south of the Cordillera Blanca, this small and compact mountain range has a dense collection of virgin lakes full of trout in shades of color blue, emerald and turquoise; glacial peaks that rival with anyone in the Himalayas; and idyllic alpine meadows perfect for camping.

The complete tour of the circuit through this remote and pristine range is considered by many as one of the spectacular ones in the world.
